We Offer 3 of the Most Popular Metal Print Frames*
*Frame and hanging hardware are complimentary with every limited edition ChromaLuxe® print purchase.
Inset
Sometimes called a "float frame" this frame is invisible from the front-on viewing. This type of frame gives the illusion that your artwork is floating off the wall.
Standard Euro
Your artwork is mounted in a 1-1/4 inch thick frame that adds depth to your print by separating it from the wall with a bold black border. The front-on view is unobstructed.
Euro Wrap
Your artwork is "wrapped" in a thin lipped frame. It is essentially a standard euro frame with an added 1/8 inch lip. The frame will be visible from front-on viewing.
Choose Your Finish
-
Glossy
Choose GlossyWhite glossy finish reflects light with no diffusion. Glares from windows and other sources of natural light may be visible. We recommend displaying this style in a space where lighting can be controlled.
-
Matte
Choose MatteWhite matte finish diffuses all kinds of lighting, including natural light. This finish is best suited for areas with windows and other sources of natural light.
-
Satin
Choose SatinAn in-between for glossy and matte. Reflections will be subtlety diffused. Good for areas with minimal natural lighting.

FAQs
What is ChromaLuxe®?
ChromaLuxe® is a premium manufacturer of aluminum substrate used for dye sublimation.
Dye sublimation is a printing process that uses heat and pressure to transfer special dye onto aluminum. The ink starts as a solid, then is vaporized, such that is permeates the surface of the aluminum.
This intense process, which takes place with a special Epson® printer using premium Epson® inks and ChromaLuxe® aluminum, results in vibrant, durable, and detailed prints that won't crack or peel over time.
What do I Get When I Place an Order?
Your purchase of a Limited Edition Metal Print includes your choice of frame. Choose from the three most popular frames and finishes.
Along with your limited edition print, you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity.
Your Certificate of Authenticity is printed on archival deckle-edged paper, signed by the artist, with a unique serial number attached to both the Certificate and the print. We keep extensive records of each edition piece that is sold.
What is "Archival"?
There is currently no exact definition for "archival"--different organizations define it in different ways and there is no universal testing standard for longevity.
However, for giclée prints, this term is loosely used to describe paper and inks that will last an extremely long time without fading or deteriorating if kept under controlled conditions.
Every print and painting you see in a museum is of archival-grade.
Some indicators that determine if a paper is of archival quality:
- Acid Free
- Lignin Free
- 100% Alpha-Cellulose
Acid Free paper can be made from any grade of cellulose and means the paper is lignin- and sulfur-free. Acid free paper has the capability to last between 500 and 1000 years.
Alpha-Cellulose is the highest grade of cellulose, as it is the most stable. When a paper has a high percentage of Alpha-Cellulose, you are guaranteed a stable, permanent medium for inks.
A similar definition is appropriate for archival metal prints as well, though, due to their nature, metal prints will not last as long as giclée prints.
Depending on the grade of metal and the grade of dye sublimation inks, "archival" metal prints can last between 60 to 100 years or more if kept in ideal conditions (away from direct sunlight and UV exposure or any extreme temperatures). We have chosen to work with print makers who take quality very seriously.
Photo Printing Pros, our metal print makers, only use ChromaLuxe® aluminum and Epson specialty inks with their customized Epson printer, which is precisely calibrated for ChromaLuxe® aluminum.
What Are the Edition Limits?
Each photograph is limited to 99 print reproductions unless otherwise noted. Print reproduction includes giclée, ChromaLuxe® aluminum, and hand-ground steel. Your Certificate will note which edition number you receive.
Is the Print Signed by the Artist?
No, when you order a limited edition print you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity, which is signed by the artist, but the print will not come signed. However, you can request for your print to be signed for an additional fee. Contact us at info@sliceoflight.com or (805) 354-5552 to get started.
